Two of my private tutoring students are observing Ramadan and I felt slightly like a villain from one of those old fashioned kid's books about evil boarding schools, trying to get them to remember sentence structures or conjugations and asking them to speculate on what characters were thinking or would do next when I could practically hear the grinding unoiled gears in their brains
